The Omaha World-Herald posted a story this week about how changes in climate, both in rising temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns, are changing agriculture in Nebraska and Iowa. While the amount of warming in the Southeast is not quite as large as in those states, most of the conclusions drawn in this story about how the changes will impact agriculture also apply to the Southeast. I cover many of these topics in talks I give about how climate trends will impact Southeastern farmers in the future. If you are interested in how climate will affect production in your area in future yearas, check out the article here.
