The preliminary maps for July 2018 show that for parts of the Southeast, including most of Georgia and along the Atlantic coast in the Carolinas and Virginia, the month was wetter than average. No big surprise, then, that temperatures were also cooler than normal due to the increased cloud cover from the stormy conditions. Drier and warmer conditions were present in central North and South Carolina (where abnormally dry conditions have been designated) and in most of Alabama.
