In 1996-97 I worked as an intern for National Public Radio’s Science Friday. I think it is one of the best (and only) major radio coverage of science on the air. This week they offered a long discussion with Andrew Revkin on four billion years of weather and climate based on his new book, Weather: An Illustrated History, which is newly published.  It will be on my Christmas for sure unless I buy it earlier. You can listen to it at https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/four-billion-years-of-climate-change/.

Another podcast of note is the first podcast of Weather Geeks online. WxGeeks was a weekly half-hour show on the Weather Channel hosted by Dr. Marshall Shepherd of the University of Georgia. The show has now transitioned from live television broadcast to a podcast format. The first episode is now available and it’s a doozy–45 minutes of Dr. Shepherd talking to Jim Cantore, one of the senior on-air meteorologists at TWC. The episode is filled with stories about Jim’s history with TWC and some of the notable extreme weather events he covered for them. You can listen to this at https://weloveweather.tv/episode-1/.
