Do you think that December has been above or below normal in temperature? Don’t ask me today, because I’ve been feeling the cold wind blowing in behind the latest cold front. But the High Plains Regional Climate Center maps show that even though it might feel cold today, the month of December so far has been above normal in most of the Southeast.  Precipitation has been feast or famine, with some areas receiving 300% or more of normal while other areas have been left mostly dry. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the cold air yet this month, so we could still end up below normal, even in this La Niña winter.
