Those who live in northern areas of the region should be watching carefully over the weekend as a blast of even colder air than this morning’s chilly breezes comes through the area. This is likely to bring freezing conditions to some areas. Tender plants and low-lying areas are most likely to feel the effects of the cold air.

The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City has put out a preliminary frost/freeze warning for Monday morning for some areas of northern Georgia. You can follow more information at https://www.weather.gov/ffc/.

If you are in far northeastern Georgia, then you are actually in the Greenville-Spartanburg NWS office’s region and you can get information from them at https://www.weather.gov/gsp/. If you are farther south towards Augusta, then you are in the zone for Columbia SC and can get information at https://www.weather.gov/cae/. They both have their own criteria for frost warnings, so you may see slightly different information coming from them. Confusing, isn’t it?
