While the wildfires in California are still burning, we are starting to see some assessments of the toll that it is taking on California agriculture, in particular on the wineries. The California Climate & Agriculture Network posted a story earlier this weekend on some preliminary estimates of costs to crops, livestock, cannibis and wine grapes at https://calclimateag.org/wildfire-and-its-painful-lessons/The Daily Beast also offered this assessment of the lack of knowledge about wine production at https://www.thedailybeast.com/californias-wine-industry-braces-for-wildfire-catastrophe?via=newsletter&source=Weekend. Economic impacts are likely to be severe once they are all collected.
