As Hurricane Harvey churns towards the central Texas coast, farmers there are trying to do what they can to prepare for the winds and massive inland flooding they are expected to experience, moving herds to higher ground and stashing feed where they think they might need it.  Power in some places may be out for weeks and many roads could be washed out.

How would you respond to an emergency like that in the Southeast?  We have had similar storms before (although Harvey is hitting a more populated area than many farmlands in the Southeast). AgWeb has a description of some of the steps farmers are taking in advance of the store here.
