The rain in parts of the Southeast experienced in the last week put a significant dent in drought conditions in Virginia, South Carolina, and especially North Carolina in this week’s Drought Monitor. Southeast Florida also had their dry conditions wiped away by recent rains there. The extreme drought in northeast Georgia was also whittled away. However, dry conditions and drought increased in south Alabama and Georgia and northern Florida as most of the rains missed them.
