This Day in History posted a story this week on an article published in the Sacramento Bee back on February 11, 1921, describing a terrible tornado which hit the Gardner Settlement near Toomsboro, east of Macon, Georgia on February 10.  The tornado track was described as five miles long and half a mile wide and it was estimated at an F4 in strength.  It hit a schoolhouse where 82 children and three teachers were present, launching 28 children into the air.  Over 30 people died in the storm (some accounts say 31 and others 32).  You can see the original story at their online archives at https://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=SU19210211.2.25.  More information is available from other news stories at https://www.gendisasters.com/georgia/11342/oconee-gardner-ga-tornado-damage-feb-1921.
