Weather Underground reported today that the death toll from this week’s tornado outbreak (19 so far) was the highest for January since 1969 and has already surpassed the total number of deaths for the entire year of 2016 across the US. Since peak tornado season is still a couple of months away, that toll is likely to rise over the year. You can read their story here.
