The “This Day in Weather History” Facebook page showed an interesting weather graphic today which lists the number of hurricanes which made landfall in the United States during each president’s term.  The graphic is from Colorado State University, which noted that so far, “Barack Obama had the fewest U.S. landfalling hurricanes of any 2-term U.S. president since 1900.” Special thanks and credit goes to Philip Klotzbach.

Weather Underground also had a synopsis of the Atlantic Hurricane season so far this year.  While the season is not quite over, the chance of another tropical storm at this point is pretty small.  You can read their report, which includes a video from The Weather Channel, here.
