The smell of smoke outside my office today is very strong.  It’s due to the wild fires associated with the drought that are occurring across many parts of the Southeast this week.  Marshall Shepherd provides some information about the smoky conditions at Forbes.com here.

EPA also has a good site which shows the track of the smoke plumes at https://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=topics.smoke_wildfires.   The picture below shows the plumes from this morning 11-11-2016.

UPDATE: The WunderBlog also has an article providing more information on some of the fires in the Southeast at https://www.wunderground.com/news/southeast-wildfires?__prclt=rPdZbjHo.
