Major Hurricane Matthew has made the expected turn to the north and is now bearing down on Jamaica, Haiti and eastern Cuba.  It is expected to dump feet of rain in some mountainous terrain, according to yesterday’s WunderBlog here.  This could lead to widespread severe damage and many deaths, particularly in Haiti where the rainfall will be the heaviest.  If you are in the Southeast along the coast, you should be watching this storm carefully, as the 5-day cone for where the storm may go now includes areas along much of the Atlantic coast in the Southeast.
