It seems that the national media is finally becoming aware of the unfolding tragedy that is the flooding occurring in Louisiana.  There have been many more reports on the flooding in the last couple of days.  So far, 9 people have been killed and over 20,000 displaced by the flooding.  According to the Wunder Blog, over 1/3 of all homes in Ascension Parish have been flooded by the water as levees failed.  Here are a few that I thought were especially helpful.  So far I have not seen much on the impacts of the rain on agriculture in the area, but I will post stories when I see them.  AgWeb did note that the flooding was likely to delay barge shipments due to navigation issues and personnel not being able to get to work.
