One of the hopes from this year’s strong El Niño was that it would bring enough rain to make a significant dent in the long-term drought conditions there.  But while parts of the Golden State received quite a bit of rain from this winter’s storms, particularly in northern California, the amount that was received was not enough to eliminate the drought from the region.
