As a climatologist and geographer I am always fascinated by the variety of maps that are available.  You can measure the “climate” of many things, not just the weather.

This week Matt Daniel, meteorologist at WMAZ in Macon, posted this map of the most active time for deer movement across Georgia from the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division of the Department of Natural Resources.  Even though I always think of October as the prime month for car-deer interactions, in the southwest and northeast corners of Georgia it is actually December when the deer movement is at its peak.  So drive carefully and watch for deer!  The life you save may be your own.

You can find the interactive map at https://www.georgiawildlife.com/rut-map.
