Since it is halfway through June, let’s take a look at how the region is stacking up so far.  For the region as a whole, temperatures are running 1-2 degrees above normal and precipitation, 1-2 inches above normal.  However, the final average temperature for the month is likely to rise since the current above normal temperatures are expected to continue for the next two weeks, which will tweak the average upward.

The wettest conditions so far are in Georgia and eastward into the Carolinas.  The hottest areas are in North Carolina and the Appalachian Mountains.

The final precipitation amount will depend critically on where the current tropical unorganized system heads and how far outside of the main area the associated rain will fall.  You can get these graphs updated at https://www.hprcc.unl.edu/maps/current/.
