The Florida Climate Institute has a page of FAQ’s (frequently asked questions) available on the topics of climate variability and climate change in Florida and the Southeast.  While some of the answers are specific to Florida, many of them are applicable across the Southeast.  You can find them at https://floridaclimateinstitute.org/resources/faqs#faqnoanchor.

They also released a press statement this week about a new article published this month in Nature Climate Change about research on the impacts of changing climate on hurricanes.  The research showed that the warming trend in temperature may increase the average intensity of hurricanes due to warmer ocean temperatures but decrease the total number due to changes in vertical temperature structure in the atmosphere.  You can read the press release at https://news.fsu.edu/Top-Stories/Climate-change-altering-frequency-intensity-of-hurricanes.
