Two new reports on the Midwestern drought of 2012 and the continuing drought conditions in California are now available online.

The report on the 2012 drought in the central US and how it evolved from the floods of 2011 was published by the National Drought Monitor today.  A description of the conclusions and links to the full report are available at https://drought.unl.edu/NewsOutreach/NDMCNews.aspx?id=184.

A blog posting on the recent rains in California and how they affected the long-term drought conditions there was published today at Climate.gov here.  It describes how the recent rains have reduced drought levels in northern California but have not made much dent in the drought farther south.
