CoCoRaHS webinar on Thursday at 1 pm EST on 2014 Hazardous Weather

The CoCoRaHS network (Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network) is a group of volunteer precipitation observers across the US (and a few in Canada) that take daily precipitation readings using a simple rain gauge and reporting online using a computer or smartphone app.  I am a regional coordinator for this program, which has been operating in Georgia for more than five years.  On Thursday at 1 pm EST, CoCoRaHS will be putting on a webinar featuring Greg Carbin of the NOAA Storm Prediction Center reviewing the hazardous weather which has affected the US in 2014.  You don’t need to be a CoCoRaHS observer to participate, but you do need to register in advance.  Go to http://www.cocorahs.org/Content.aspx?page=wxtalk to get the link to register and see what other webinars are coming up.  They offer one about once a month on a variety of weather and earth science related topics.  You can also view these later as archived talks.  They only have room for 500 participants, so don’t wait too long.
