The latest 7-day outlook for rainfall issued today shows most of the Southeast in below normal rainfall for the next week.  This is a continuation of the pattern that has been persisting across the region for the last several weeks and does not bode well for reduction of dry conditions across the area.  The only area that is expected to get above normal rainfall is south peninsular Florida.  In addition, the Climate Prediction Center is suggesting that temperatures are likely to be above normal for the next two weeks, which will lead to increased water stress on crops and a potential expansion of severe drought.
