The outbreak is on a commercial duck operation. The operation is large enough that USDA\/APHIS will put export restrictions in place for poultry. It is important to remember that migratory waterfowl are natural carriers of highly pathogenic avian influenza. It would be worth while for small flock owners to practice good bio-security measures.
