The last identification was in a field in Morgan County near the community of Buckhead (near Madison).\u00a0\u00a0Prior to this find late last week\u00a0it had ONLY been found lightly in Seminole and Marion Counties.\u00a0Samples from\u00a0the Bulloch County\u00a0corn rust sentinel plot at Michael Smith&#8217;s Farm have been taken weekly, but no corn rust has been found.<\/p>\n<p>If your corn is not yet\u00a0at R6\/dough stages, you\u00a0should be aware there is at least some threat.\u00a0The recent find of southern corn rust in north Georgia means that it could be present anywhere in Georgia now. The\u00a0current weather has been conducive for the movement of the disease.
