The President has signed this legislation and it has become law.<\/p>\n<p>Effective with the 2018 crop, \u201cseed cotton\u201d is now a covered commodity under Title I of the 2014 farm bill and eligible for PLC (Price Loss Coverage) and ARC (Agricultural Risk Coverage) payments. For purposes of the legislation, \u201cseed cotton\u201d is unginned upland cotton\u2014a combination of both cotton (lint) and cottonseed.<\/p>\n<p>The National Cotton Council will host regional webinars regarding the provisions of the recently authorized 2018 seed cotton farm program. Information will be provided on the provision of the seed cotton program including examples of support levels under various price scenarios and examples of generic base conversion options. In addition, updates on the new farm bill will be covered.
