Here is a report from Dr. Bob Kemerait, Extension Plant Pathologist;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI received official word from the Georgia Department of Ag that the EPA has denied our request to use Counter 20G on cotton. \u00a0<strong><em>(It is still legal on field corn.)<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0The reason given basically says that use on cotton would exceed the appropriate amount for the \u201crisk cup\u201d for terbufos (active ingredient)\u00a0in the state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, I am disappointed with this decision but I truly appreciate the efforts of Commissioner Gary Black, the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Mr. Richey Seaton and the Georgia Cotton Commission, Cotton, Inc., and also AMVAC for their efforts to provide cotton growers in Georgia with a tool to manage nematodes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However we must respect the decision by the EPA. \u00a0To be very clear, Counter 20G applied to cotton in 2015 is\u00a0an<strong> illegal application<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We just received word from the GA dept. of Ag. that Counter will not receive a Sec. 18 for 2015.
