“Many have asked about EPA’s proposal to revoke US food tolerances for the insecticide chlorpyrifos.  This proposal is an outcome of a recent U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision ordering EPA to respond to allegations about chlorpyrifos in a 2007 activist petition.  EPA said it will not act on its proposal to revoke tolerances until it has received and responded to input from interested stakeholders.

The comment period is open now and will be until it closes on January 5th.  The input of the scientific community is important.  Attached are several documents to help answer questions and provide guidelines about the submission process.  In addition, hang onto any materials you submit as there will likely be additional comment periods later in 2016.”
