The Department of Agriculture is offering one final Using Pesticides Wisely training for 2019. It will be held at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center on May 21 at 1:30 pm. Remember, one must now hold a private or commercial pesticide applicator license to purchase and use the dicamba products Engenia, FeXapan, or XtendiMax. Prior to applying these products in 2019, ALL applicators must be trained according to the federal labels. In Georgia, applicators must complete the 2019 Using Pesticides Wisely classroom training. If you attended this training in 2015, 2016, 2017, or 2018, you must re-take the training in 2019.

Growers and applicators in charge of in-crop applications of Enlist Duo or Enlist One in Enlist cotton or soybean must also complete the Using Pesticides Wisely classroom training. If you attended this training in 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018, you must re-take the training in 2019.

Extension agents and GDA will also offer an applicators license training for those individuals who do not have a pesticide license, as they did for other UPW meetings already held this year. The applicators license will allow individuals the ability to apply Engenia, XtendiMax or FeXapan in 2019 and 2020 only.

For those wanting to know who has completed the training visit the Department of Ag’s auxin website; scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see “Applicators with Using Pesticides Wisely Training for 2019” https://agr.georgia.gov/24c.aspx. Click on the location of interest, and names from individuals that filled out the registration (if legible) are entered.
