{"id":669,"date":"2021-04-19T08:25:18","date_gmt":"2021-04-19T12:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/benhillcoag\/?p=669"},"modified":"2021-04-19T08:25:19","modified_gmt":"2021-04-19T12:25:19","slug":"row-crop-disease-update-kemerait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/benhillcoag\/2021\/04\/row-crop-disease-update-kemerait\/","title":{"rendered":"Row Crop Disease Update- Kemerait"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planting of cotton and peanuts will begin to ramp-up in the coming weeks.&nbsp; Important that growers pay careful attention to soil conditions, especially soil temps.&nbsp; Soil moisture is very important, especially for non-irrigated fields, but so is soil temperatures.&nbsp; At least that&#8217;s what our Corn, Cotton, and Peanut team leaders told me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember this well, in addition to consideration for soil temps and soil moisture.&nbsp; Here are the things in my wheelhouse you get one best chance to take the battle to BEFORE the furrow is closed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>&nbsp;Seedling diseases in all crops (more on this throughout the week).<\/li><li>Nematodes in all crops.&nbsp; (Yes there are some options, e.g. in peanut, later, but the BEST options are selected BEFORE the furrow is closed.) (variety choice and use of nematicides)<\/li><li>Management of Cylindrocladium black rot (CBR) in peanuts. (Proline in-furrow)<\/li><li>Management of Bacterial Blight in cotton.
