Deadline is March 27th 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE RULES FOR DETERMINING\nWINNERS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There will be 15 winners chosen in\nthis manner:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>State Winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; One\nstate-wide winner that produced the highest average yield in Georgia in 2019 on\n100.0 to 299.9 acres.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; One\nstate-wide winner that produced the highest average yield in Georgia in 2019 on\n300 to 699.9 Acres<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(3)&nbsp;&nbsp; One state-wide winner that produced the\nhighest average yield in Georgia in 2019 on 700 or more acres<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>District Winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; One\nwinner from each of the four GPAC districts for the following three\nacreage categories:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1)\n100 to 299.9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2)\n300-699.9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 3)\n700 and up <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In our discussions with FSA, they\nare not able to quickly review their records and determine the top yielding\ngrowers in a county.&nbsp; It will be\nincumbent upon you to solicit high-yielding entries from your producers.<\/strong>&nbsp;\n<strong>Please read item #6 on the Plans for Determining Peanut Yields<\/strong><strong>@<\/strong><strong>\nworksheet very carefully.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please read rules 7 and 8 of the\n&#8220;Rules and Regulations&#8221; carefully.&nbsp;\nNote that the minimum yield requirement for the 700 acres and up\ncategory is set at 3500 pounds per acre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enclosed you will find the\nfollowing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(1) Rules and regulations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(2) List of Counties in each GPAC\ndistrict<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(3) The worksheet &#8220;Plan for\nDetermining Yields&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(4) Production questionnaires for\nentrants into the club<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners in this\nyear&#8217;s GPAC, as in the past, will receive a trip and professional improvement\nseminar sponsored for <strong>him or herself,\nhis or her spouse, their county agent and spouse<\/strong>. This year\u2019s location has\nnot been determined as of Today.&nbsp; <strong>&nbsp;The date will be either the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> or\n3<sup>rd<\/sup> weekend in August.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each\ncounty should submit at least three entries: the county\u2019s highest yield per\nacre in the 100 \u2013 299.9 acreage category, the county\u2019s highest yield in the 300-699\nacreage category, and the highest yields in the 700 plus acreage categories.&nbsp;&nbsp; Also, we need this information to look at\nproduction practices across the state and how producers have changed their\nmanagement to achieve these high yields.&nbsp;\nDeadline for entries into our office in Tifton is <strong>5:00 PM FRIDAY, March\n27, 2020. The exception would be if the other individual(s) listed as co-producer(s)\nentered the Georgia Peanut Achievement Club and included that acreage in their\nentry.&nbsp; If peanuts are produced in more\nthan one county, the producer will decide to which county his entry will be\nsubmitted. Minimum acreage required for entry is 100 acres.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. &nbsp;&nbsp;The overall\nstate winner in the 100 \u2013 299.9, 300 \u2013 699.9, and 700 plus acreage categories\nwill be determined first. The district winners for the 100 \u2013 299.9, 300 \u2013 699.9\nand 700 plus acreage categories will be determined after determining the three overall\nstate winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Any\nproducer averaging 4000 pounds per acre on all farms can be entered into the\nGeorgia Peanut &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Achievement Club and can receive a\ncertificate.&nbsp; The minimum yield\nrequirement for acreage category 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (700 acres plus) is 3500 pounds per acre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp;&nbsp; In the event that an acreage category within\na district does not produce a yield of 4,000 pounds per acre or more (3500\nlbs\/A for the 700 plus acreage category), then the highest yield in that\nacreage category from all entries statewide will be declared the winner,\nprovided it exceeds 4,000 pounds per acre.&nbsp;\nIf&nbsp; there are no statewide entries\nwith a yield of 4,000 pounds per acre within that acreage category, then the\nnext highest yield statewide will be declared the winner if it meets the\nminimum acceptable yield as determined by the rules committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp;&nbsp; The reported peanut production will not be\nseparated by peanut market type (runner, Virginia, Spanish, Valencia).&nbsp; For the purpose of the Peanut Achievement\nClub, market types are not treated separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.&nbsp; Acreage and poundage entered must be listed\nwith the County Agent and acreage certified by CFSA.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A complete record must be furnished by the\nCounty Extension Coordinator including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; a)\nPlan for Determining Peanut Yields &#8211; Georgia Cooperative Extension Service\nform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) Georgia Peanut\nAchievement Club Production record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; c) Listing\nof buying point printouts by farm with corresponding net weights for\neach entry signed &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; by\nCounty Extension Director and peanut producer.&nbsp;\nDo not send in sales receipts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. All yields\nwill be ascertained by use of the &#8220;Georgia Cooperative Extension Service\nPlan For<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Determining Peanut Yields&#8221;.&nbsp; Yields must be verified by the County Agent,\nand he may use the <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; assistance of any qualified person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.&nbsp; Records for District and State awards must be\n<strong>received in the by 5:00 PM, Friday, March\n27, 2020 to be eligible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. A State Peanut\nCommittee reserves the right to check any yield thought necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14. AWARDS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>a)<\/strong> County Awards:&nbsp; Peanut Achievement Club certificates will be\nprovided to County Extension <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinators if\nthey have entrants that meet the stated production requirements and verification\nprocedures (see rule # 7).&nbsp; Local\nrecognition will be at the discretion of the County Extension Coordinator.&nbsp; County Awards should be administered at the\ncounty level, not through the State office in Tifton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>b)<\/strong> Peanut\nAchievement Club District Awards: The peanut producing area will be divided\ninto four Peanut Achievement Club districts.&nbsp;\nThe growers with the top yield per acre in the 100 \u2013 299.9 acreage\ncategory, 300 \u2013 699.9 acreage category and the 700 plus acreage category will receive\nplaques designating them Georgia Peanut Achievement Club district winners.
