UGA Extension Soil Scientist Dr. Glen Harris has provided some information on this topic:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>May planted cotton could have lost some pre-plant Nitrogen and Sulfur. What should we do?\u00a0<strong>Consider early sidedress<\/strong>\u00a0AND\u00a0<strong>add 10 to 20 pounds of Nitrogen per acre<\/strong>\u00a0if rain fall was enough to leach fertilizer. Also,\u00a0<strong>add sulfur to sidedress nitrogen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Every field will have a different soil type. A lot of fields have long rows with many different soil types in the same row.<\/p>\n<p>Listed below are some general time tested truths about leachable soil fertilizer nutrients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most leachable nutrients are Nitrogen, Sulfur and Boron.<\/li>\n<li>Potassium is not as mobile as Nitrogen.<\/li>\n<li>Phosphorus is immobile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. What is the official timing window for sidedressing cotton ?\u00a0<strong>First Square to First Bloom.
