Paraquat Applicators Certification

On March 8, 2019 the EPA released a training that will be required for all new labeled paraquat (late summer – fall of 2019). The training will take about 45 minutes and it is a good training. The reason for the training is in response to 17 human deaths since 2000. In fact, one horrible case was the death of a child from GA.

These training requirements only apply to newly labeled (2019) products.  They do not apply to paraquat products with labels prior to 2019.  It would be awesome for Georgia growers and pesticide applicators to take the lead and be proactive (like we were with dicamba). After completing this training, you may be changing the way you handle paraquat, and protect yourselves and your employees even more effectively than before this user-friendly training. You will have to take a test and get a 100; however, once you take the test it will tell you the answers you missed and you can just retake it immediately.
