I found a perfect example of why marketing is important today. Below is a picture I took earlier when I went to a local grocery store and made my way to the snack\u00a0section. There&#8217;s 20 different packages of\u00a0almonds and not one package of pecans!\u00a0As a pecan grower, this makes you sick!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2014\/03\/Fullscreen-capture-3292014-115027-AM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-621\" alt=\"Fullscreen capture 3292014 115027 AM\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2014\/03\/Fullscreen-capture-3292014-115027-AM-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2014\/03\/Fullscreen-capture-3292014-115027-AM-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2014\/03\/Fullscreen-capture-3292014-115027-AM-183x138.jpg 183w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2014\/03\/Fullscreen-capture-3292014-115027-AM.jpg 659w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Do you know which nut has the highest amount of antioxidants per amount? The pecan! In moderation, the pecan has been known to reduce cholesterol and bad fat from the body by as much as 32%.<\/p>\n<p>Another\u00a0mineral component in pecans\u00a0is zinc, which is important in producing testosterone in both males and females. Because of that, some actually claim it increases the same desires that oysters do. Now, I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s scientifically true or not. I do know that the main pecan harvest season is October, November and December, and If you look at statistics, the most popular months for babies to be born is September, August, June, and July, in that order. Those months pretty much fall nine months after pecan harvest, so it does make sense!
