Here is a slide from my 2025 county presentation about weed control in conventional field corn. Growers need to double-check labels since some herbicide tank-mixes are prohibited (i.e. Callisto and Dual Magnum or Outlook). Also, growers need to confirm the tolerance of any field corn hybrid to the WSSA\/HRAC Group 2, Group 15, and Group 27 herbicides. I recently learned that Pioneer now has one (P13777PWUE).\u00a0 Check out this 2024 yield data from Pioneer:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2025\/02\/image-42.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2025\/02\/image-42.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2025\/02\/image-42.png 1000w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2025\/02\/image-42-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/applingcrop\/files\/2025\/02\/image-42-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Consequently, some Georgia growers might now be more interested in trying the Enlist\u00ae field corn corn weed control system (<strong><em><u>on a limited basis<\/u><\/em><\/strong>).&nbsp; &nbsp;A few thoughts about this system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1) I have not conducted very many weed control trials with the Enlist\u00ae system.&nbsp; My weed science research colleague in Athens (Dr. Nick Basinger) has.&nbsp; Each applicator must keep training completion record, due to the fact that the required paraquat training applies not only to purchase and application, but all aspects of mixing, loading, and handling. The training is available in both english and spanish versions and requires training certificate renewal every 3 years. The paraquat training may also be accessed at\u00a0<strong>UGA Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) website\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/psep.uga.edu\/private\/\">https:\/\/psep.uga.edu\/private\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>American Relief Act of 2025: Economic Assistance for Georgia Crop Producers (Dr. Serinna Liu)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration with the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF) at the University of Missouri, we have developed projections indicating that Georgia\u2019s crop producers are expected to receive approximately $185 million in economic assistance payments under the American Relief Act of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attached paper provides details on the estimated payments for key crops, including barley, corn, cotton, oats, peanuts, sorghum, soybeans, and wheat.
