Coming up on July 18, 4-H Day at the Atlanta History Center is an annual event that is fun and exciting, an inexpensive summer activity with lots of education. Last year, Hunter Petty and Bryson Smith of Gordon County 4-H made history at the Atlanta History Center by being some of the first people ever to have livestock on the grounds. Olivia Forrest, also of Gordon County, gave her Project Achievement presentation on Chinese to those attending the day.

You too could take part in 4-H Day at the Atlanta History Center, as a presenter or a spectator. If you are interested in carrying your livestock project or your DPA project to the Atlanta History Center on July 18, please go to this link and fill out the registration form. The first 20 who apply will have their registration paid for the day. For those that take livestock, a parent will also receive free registration.

If you want to go, but do not want to take a project, that is fine too. You can learn more about Atlanta and Georgia history, visit the newly restored Cyclorama, Swan House, historic farm, gardens, and featured exhibits, all for $7. Gordon County 4-H will not be taking a delegation as a group, but families can register to attend on their own by contacting the Gordon County 4-H office to get the special rate of $7 for the July 18 4-H Day at the Atlanta History Center.
